The Next Faithful Step for Stillpoint Leadership
Dear Stillpoint Community,
Grace and peace to you. I am writing with two pieces of good news about our leadership—news that reflects both the gifts God has already placed among us and the Spirit’s invitation into what comes next.
First, I am delighted to introduce five new members of our Board of Directors. Sara Critchfield (Board Secretary), Dr. Aisha Davis, Rev. Dr. Stacey Forte-Dupré, Dr. Yulee Lee, and Douglas Murrell (Board Vice Chair) will join Gerti Reagan Garner (Board Treasurer) and myself, Rev. Daniel Tamm (Board Chair). Each brings a remarkable combination of spiritual depth and professional experience in areas that are relevant to Stillpoint’s unfolding future.
Sara, a Stillpoint ASD alum, brings 25 years of experience working in strategic communications for nonprofits as well as development and fundraising expertise. Aisha brings theological scholarship, vision and wisdom around Artificial Intelligence, ministry innovation, and a passion for helping people grow into deeper lives of faith. Stacey brings pastoral leadership, theological scholarship, and a deep commitment to belonging and disability inclusion. Yulee brings nonprofit and organizational leadership, strategic vision, and a particular gift for cultivating healthy, resilient organizations. Doug brings expertise in helping organizations translate mission and vision into practical strategies, build effective partnerships, and guiding communities into meaningful participation. We are profoundly grateful for the wisdom and energy they are bringing to Stillpoint. Please see more about each of our Board members here.
As Stillpoint is strengthened with fresh ideas and creative energy from these new members of the Board, I want to share about how we will sustain that energy with an update on our executive leadership. We are deeply grateful for the leadership of Jasmine Bellamy, who has guided Stillpoint with vision, love, and a deep commitment to our contemplative mission. In just seven short months, Jasmine has already catalyzed new initiatives, revitalized current programming, and planned for a more sustainable future. In addition, Jasmine has been recently called into full-time leadership as the Executive Director of the Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation. We celebrate this calling and the gifts she will bring to our sister community.
Jasmine will continue serving Stillpoint as Executive Director in a fractional, contracted capacity through the remaining five months of her current engagement. This arrangement allows us to benefit from her consistent leadership and institutional knowledge while we continue to thoughtfully discern what Stillpoint needs for its next chapter of executive leadership. As we move through this season together, we will remain attentive to how this collaborative partnership may continue to unfold. We'll continue the strategic discernment already underway, listening carefully to our community and attending to Stillpoint’s emerging priorities, organizational needs, and the movement of the Spirit, trusting that discernment will take shape through our shared experience, listening, and prayer. We are grateful for the opportunity to tend what has been planted, strengthen our foundation, and remain open to where the Spirit is leading.
These changes invite us to remember something central to the life of a contemplative community: we do not have to know the whole path in order to take the next faithful step. Stillpoint has always been a place where people come to listen more deeply—to God, to one another, and to the movements of the Spirit within and among us. This season is no different.
I am deeply grateful for each of you who make Stillpoint what it is: a community of practice committed to liberated spiritual formation, stillness, belonging and becoming. I humbly ask for your prayers and your continued participation in our unfolding story. May we enter this next season fearlessly embracing change with courage and curiosity about what is being born. The Spirit of love is moving among us. And we are listening.
