Welcoming a New Board President!
Dear Stillpoint Friends,
It is my great honor to announce that The Rev. Daniel Tamm has been selected as Stillpoint’s next Board President. Daniel joined the Stillpoint Board just one year ago and has already offered his steady wisdom, deep listening, and genuine care for our mission. We are thrilled that he has stepped into this new role, and we look forward to the ways his leadership will help guide Stillpoint into the seasons ahead.
Daniel is rooted and grounded in spiritual practice, and his calling finds expression in the work of justice, peace, and care for creation. Ordained in the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles, he serves at The Church of the Holy Nativity, Westchester.
Deacon Tamm is President of Interfaith Solidarity Network, an organization of diverse communities of faith and conscience whose mission is to build relationships of mutuality and kinship to strengthen inter-spiritual engagement.
He also serves as advocacy chair for the Bishop’s Commission on Climate Change and chairs the steering committee of the LA Faith & Ecology Network, where he helps organize the faith community to speak with one voice for climate justice. In recognition of this work, he was honored with California Interfaith Power & Light’s Climate Advocacy Award in 2025.
Alongside his ministry and community leadership, Daniel lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Nicole, and their two dogs. Their son, Charlie, is a musician thriving in Brooklyn, NY.
Please join me in offering Daniel a warm Stillpoint welcome and deep gratitude as he steps into this role of service and leadership among us.
I invited Daniel to offer a brief greeting:
This past summer I immersed myself in Stillpoint's The Spiritual Journey while abiding at Casa del Sol on Ghost Ranch in New Mexico. As a member of the Board of Directors, I wanted to personally experience what it is that we offer and learn about how Stillpoint shares wisdom. Very early on one of the facilitators read this quote from Paulo Coelho, "Maybe the journey is not about becoming anything. Maybe it's about unbecoming everything." I knew then that I was exactly where I needed to be.
As one who is very engaged in the world, building coalitions for systemic change in housing justice, climate action, economic equity, and interfaith engagement, I cherish what Stillpoint does so well - guide me to the starting point - practicing the simple art of paying attention, in discernment and spiritual practice.
Keeping the good of the project always in the forefront, I rejoice in helping Stillpoint become a more professional, sustainable, and impactful nonprofit - with clarity and courage in strategic decisions for stronger organizational structure - to keep creating a vibrant environment for the Board to be co-pilots with Krystle and for staff to be supported to do their best work.
Our country is being afflicted with something very like moral injury. If we are to offer a healing presence, which we can, we need good spiritual companionship. If we are to build a just and compassionate society, we need nourishing sources like Stillpoint to thrive. I am excited to be part of this next chapter.
The Rev. Daniel Tamm
Peace and Blessings,
Krystle Hart, Daniel Tamm, and the Stillpoint Board of Directors
