Winter Solstice

A Letter from the Stillpoint Board

Greetings!

Today is the Winter Solstice! A day I always await eagerly because daylight will begin to grow longer – more light is coming. Christians have long connected Christmas with the Light coming to us. The work that Stillpoint has been doing for 40 years helps that light spread. Our programs have facilitated spiritual exploration and spiritual leadership. Our Art of Spiritual Direction program has formed hundreds of Spiritual Companions. They, in turn, have touched countless lives. Contemplative, spiritually grounded people spread light into the world. Kindness begets kindness; peace begets peace.

As part of our 40th Anniversary activities, the Board of Directors is undertaking a review of the programs we offer, as well as their sustainability. We have experienced significant growth in the number of people asking for scholarships. Our programs offer rich teaching and mentoring. We do our best to keep expenses down and we are committed to maintaining our standards for what we deliver.

We are so grateful for all who have already donated to our year-end campaign to support the scholarship fund. And we need more of you to support us. For those of you who responded to our appeal last week for at least $40 for 40 years, thank you. If you haven’t yet, it’s not too late. We look forward to a long future and hope you share that vision.

On behalf of the entire Board of Directors, I thank you for being part of our community and wish you a blessed holiday season.

In gratitude,
Gerti Garner
