Stars of Hope: Companioning the Journey to Wholeness

A Letter from the Stillpoint Board

We all want something more. Advent asks the question, what is it for which you are spending your life? What is the star you are following now? And where is that star in its present radiance in your life leading you? Is it a place that is really comprehensive enough to equal the breadth of the human soul?

“The Human Experience of Waiting”

by Joan Chittister

Dear Friend,

For over 40 years, we at Stillpoint have companioned people from all walks of life who “want something more,” as Joan Chittister relates in her evocative meditation on the season of Advent. Our mission to provide opportunities for those seeking a more profound connection with Divine Mystery continues to respond to the deepest needs of humanity and the planet. We at Stillpoint believe that the need for a more compassionate world is connected to doing rigorous inner work as the basis of spiritual activism. As Joan Chittister asks this season, when we look at the stars,What is the star you are following now?"

Throughout our impressive history, Stillpoint has offered diverse programs on contemplative living. Our training program in the art of spiritual direction has been at the center of our mission for more than four decades. Our founders discerned the need for more trained spiritual directors to support people in their spiritual exploration and formation. Our training programs have diversified, including our Ghost Ranch in New Mexico residential program, Group Spiritual Direction, our graduate program in Supervision, and Eco-Spiritual Direction with the Center for Wild Spirituality.

Those not seeking training but who long to explore their spirituality participate in the Spiritual Journey programs online, in-person, and at Ghost Ranch. Our online chapel provides extensive opportunities accessible to people beyond locations in California and New Mexico through Contemplative Liturgies, Centering Prayer, Wisdom Chanting, and BioSpiritual focusing. An Iona pilgrimage is planned for 2025. If you have lost touch with our programs, visit our website

The generosity of our donors allows Stillpoint to continue offering programs that respond to the deep spiritual yearnings of our time through creative staffing, program development, technological enhancements, and strategic marketing. We are sensitive to keeping our overhead low and creating space for as many people as possible. Your donation of $100 or whatever amount you can give will help ensure Stillpoint’s sustainability in the future.

We ask for your prayers and good intentions as we enter our next 40 years. Your referrals of family, friends, and colleagues are immensely important to our recruitment efforts. We are grateful to all our friends who make this work possible.

Faithfully yours,

(The Rev.) Dr. Sheryl A. Kujawa-Holbrook and The Stillpoint Board

P.S. Send us your donation by December 31, and most directly impact our 2025 offerings!
