Life Support

Nearly 40 years ago, a group of people from different spiritual traditions came together to find a way to support people in listening deeply to their own experience of God. The good work of religious communities doesn’t always include making a space for the soul’s journey to be heard and known. Much effort is given to teach the beliefs of our religious traditions, and to learn from sacred texts about how to live in love, and the importance of caring for those in greatest need among us. Stillpoint’s founders wanted to help people honor and listen for how God is present and working in every part of daily living. They believed our ministries would have deeper foundations and more strength through this kind of listening. Our founders wanted to do more to honor the mystic living in each of us.

If you want to find God,
then honor God within you,
and you will always see God beyond you.
For it is only God in you
who knows where and how to look for God.
— Richard Rohr, The Naked Now

This quiet, steady mission continues today, and I am writing to you because you too are part of this mission…

  • If you are Spiritual Director companioning others on their journey.

  • If you have a spiritual director who helps you trust the slow work of God in your life.

  • If you are participating in a Stillpoint program to strengthen your connection with the Holy through our Spiritual Journey, or are part of the first cohort of our Wisdom in Practice program.

  • If you are reconnecting through our new Graduate programs.

  • If you have strengthened your skills through a supervision workshop or Group Spiritual Direction class.

  • If you have tended to your longing at one of Stillpoint’s One-Day Nurturing the Spirit retreats.

  • If you have been intentional in taking the sacred art of deep listening to all parts of your life.

I hope you will consider supporting Stillpoint this year with a financial gift, so together we can continue to offer companionship for the work of nurturing our intimate relationship with the Holy.

May you continue to care for your own soul’s journey.

Blessings,
Elizabeth+
