Restorative Compassion as a Resource for Caregivers During COVID-19: Part 3

Session 3 of 3

This three-part online event explores the renewing resource of genuine compassion for persons who are in caregiving relationships during the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • May 12th: Session 1 explores reconnecting with the compassionate source of our vocations as caregivers.

  • May 15th: Session 2 explores the restorative process of self-compassion, especially in times of stress and weariness, as a means of caring for ourselves and renewing our capacities for compassionate caregiving.

  • May 18th: Session 3 explores the difference between empathy and compassion; how compassion fatigue is more properly called empathy fatigue; and how genuine compassion is spiritually restorative not soul depleting.

This three-part webinar is designed for spiritual directors, chaplains, counselors, parents, and those caring for others during the particular stresses of the global pandemic. It will include time for personal self-reflection, online small group connection, contemplative spiritual practice.
