Spiritual Exploration is a ten month program that supports participants exploring their personal spiritual lives in a small group setting, deeply enriching their relationship with God/Spirit and recognizing the ways that God is present and working in their lives. A trained facilitator guides members in developing their skills in deep listening and personal discernment.

Group members are strongly encouraged to be in Spiritual Direction while participating in the program. (Stillpoint can refer applicants to Spiritual Directors, if desired.) The Spiritual Exploration Program introduces participants to the deep and expansive practices of Christian spiritual formation, the ancient practice of Spiritual Direction, and a process whereby participants will discern the next steps in their spiritual journey. The Spiritual Exploration Program is open to people of all denominations and faiths. We are rooted in the Christian tradition, and we welcome a diverse and inclusive learning community.

Spiritual Exploration classes are planned for West Los Angeles, Glendale, Santa Barbara, Ventura, Pasadena, Redlands, Claremont, Long Beach, San Fernando Valley, San Luis Obispo, and Bakersfield.

What is the Commitment? The program consists of ten four-hour sessions that meet once each month. Each session includes personal exploration, group discussion of assigned readings, and practice in forms of prayer and contemplation. Participants who discern a call to become Spiritual Directors can then apply to enter Stillpoint’s two year training program in The Art of Spiritual Direction.

FEE: The tuition fee is $375, which includes all materials except books

DATE: Spiritual Exploration classes begin Saturday, September 20, 2008.
(Remaining class sessions are scheduled on the first day.)

Applications are now being accepted. Early enrollment is encouraged; class size is limited.
